The New Was (Not Was) Album, “BOO!”

That’s right, those two wacky white boys who once instructed us us to “Walk The Dinosaur” are back with their first ever studio album in twenty years. Don & David Was (nee David Weiss and Don Fagenson) present us with 10 brand new tunes, known collectively as “BOO!” (Yep, that’s the actual title) originally released in January 2008. D’Angelo New Album on J Records

It’s been a long times since we’ve had a new album from D’Angelo. 8 years to be exact.  No work in 8 years, that brotha got some good accountants. News is starting to surface that D’Angelo is now signed to J Records and that his new album is due sometime in 2009. Reports are also claiming that a new single may be released by the end of 2008.  Long time producer Raphael Saadiq has already blessed D with tracks. There is talk of a collabo with John Mayer. It will be interesting to see how this project will turn out. D’Angelo has been threw alot of adventures in the past 8 years.

I arrived at the Enmore Theatre at around twenty to eight. Soon as I was ushered to my seat, Marcia Hines hit the stage. Now, I must say, I wasn’t exactly looking too forward to seeing this woman, cuz let’s face it, I’m far from a Marcia Hines fan. As a live performer, she wasn’t too bad. She busted a few “sexy” dance moves, talked about her days at the “discotheque” where a short guy would approach her & she would tower over him in her platform heels. Next thing you know, she’s launching into an enegergetic rendition of “Shake your groove thing” by Peaches & Herb. Read the story »
